Who am I?
Some water, some maji and some aqua.
Why the confusion?

O.K. I am water
I cover 71% of the earth they say
But is that it?
Or do I have any significant?

I am made of hydrogen and oxygen.
Everything else is what I gather from the surroundings.
And I support all life forms in one way or the other.
I am water the mighty treasure.

Without me there is no life
Without me there is no health
Without everything is dry
Without me everyone will die

I am given different names
Especially when in plenty
My names depend on my speed
Or sometimes on my properties.

When in channels and moving, they call me a river.
When stationary, they call me a lake.
When in vast amount and salty
I become an ocean.

I am subject to different oppression
They extract all my treasure from ocean.
I am a sink for all waste that’s pollution.
And everything good they take possession.

Oh! Humans why don’t you have mercy on me?
To the river you dispose all your waste
Solid and liquid, degradable, non degrable
Organic and inorganic, regardless of effects.



From the factories, farms residents and institutions.
I am a sink of chemical deposition
P.C.B, D.D.T, P.O.P and chlorines
These are but the few chemicals I am forced to clean.

The dangers of chemicals is great
It kills all life forms I support
They destroy the scenery and habitat
Then I am left lifeless and in disgust.

When they dispose waste in rivers
They flow to lakes and oceans
This leads to global pollution
And plants and animals eradication.

Please I beg you ladies and gentlemen
To conserve me and my environment
This will spare you misery and regret
And the Almighty will bless you in heavens.
